love the colour of most Australian woods, this intense orange is very rare in the tree world
local councils often saw-off weak and too overhanging branches from street trees - a way of preventing them falling on a car or person on the first strong wind day!
for us amateur woodworkers, it is sheer bliss: I often go around looking for the cut-offs and take them home before the council can get them removed for wood-chipping.
they make some of the best coloured wood turning and wood carving blanks I've ever seen!
